Hexagon is a city in North Underrail.

Description

Hexagon is second in size only to Dis. It is a well-known tech hub and a haven for tech heads and tech criminals alike. It resembles a tall tower with many floors, each one more cramped than the other and full of maze-like passages leading to all sorts of places. Hexagon is full of cyber centers, tech stores and augmentation shops and is said to be unrivaled in terms of technology in whole known Underrail. Its citizens commonly speak in a slang called Hexagonian X which revolves around changing some of the words so that they start with the letter “x”.

While technically a part of United Stations, Protectorate has no presence in the city and Hexagon is de facto self-governed by various independent factions.

XR

Recently, a certain new technology called XR (miXed Reality) has become very popular in Hexagon. Part of XR is virtual and part is digital, with the real world sometimes being influenced by the virtual world. An example of this technology is miXR, which looks similar to a gyrosphere where the user steps in and once the entrance closes, the session starts. User can no longer tell that they are inside a miXR and can smell, touch, feel and taste things just like in the real world. Some XR sessions have a dark turn however and it has been reported that certain people have been killed inside miXR or that they disappear or the items they brought inside appear in some other place. Noone is certain who made the XR and miXRs, but the technology is highly advanced and it has appeared in Hexagon very suddenly.
