Lower Underrail is also the name of the entire world area in the alpha version. Other upcoming world areas are Upper Underrail and Deep Caverns.

Lower Underrail is an huge derelict urban area consisting of over 10 zones. 4 of those areas are initially inaccessible due to cave-ins caused by the recent earthquake. They can be visited later on, when the player has access to TNT Charges.

It is accessible from SGS level 1 exit and north station platform. 3 Lower Underrail areas are to the south from the station platform, and 8 more are to the north.

Rathounds are a common sight and various human outcasts have small settlements all over the Lower Underrail. Some bandits can also be met in the area during Jack Quicksilver's delivery mission. Intrepid explorers may even stumble upon some burrowers in the depths of Lower Underrail.
