If you chose to let Free Drones keep the stolen supply train by not informing Protectorate at SRO about it and lying to Captain Herve, you will have an opportunity to join Free Drones. You will be contacted by a Mysterious Lady somewhere, usually at a Lower Underrail train station, such as the one in Core City.
Objectives
- A protectorate envoy with escort is visiting Rail Crossing. Wait for them at the train station and assassinate the envoy. After that report to the mysterious lady near Junkyard's south entrance.
- Find the Free Drones base in the under-passage. Enter the underpassage entrance near Rail Crossing and, once inside, go west until you come up to a door with an intercom. The passcode is "delectable."
Walkthrough
The task is simple. You are to murder a protectorate envoy right outside the train station at Rail Crossing. He is escorted by 3 protectorate troops.
Deal with them and go meet the mysterious lady right outside Junkyard gate. You will get the password to Free Drones Base from her.
Once that's done, all you have to do is find the Free Drones Base in the under-passages. Follow Sarah's instructions (head south from the railway T-intersection outside Rail Crossing and enter the underpassage to the west) and you'll find it.
Only the envoy is the assassination target, killing the protectorate guards is optional. If the guards are left alive, they will disappear after completion of the quest.
NOTE: If you kill his bodyguards first the envoy will try to bargain for his life. You can take him up on his offer or just simply let him leave, but naturally doing so will count as failure and end the Free Drones questline.
