Wit Nosek used to be a brilliant Biocorp researcher, working on projects related to genetics, bioengineering, and human longevity. He was most known for his work on the Phenotype Dynamics project which researched usage of mutagens to influence living beings in its mature state. This project later caused much controversy during the 'Hollow Earth Incident' and was one of the catalysts for the fall of Old Biocorp.

Over time he became eccentric, shunning contact with colleagues with the only exception being his assistant. Eventually he became senile. The old man resides in a decrepit room within his family's mansion.

He describes his human genome research in a moment of lucidity to the player character:

Only half of the answer lies in [the human genome], the other half is in the symbionts.

See Wikipedia:Human gastrointestinal microbiota#Acquisition in human infants for an unrelated basic human symbiont example.
