Core City is a major urban location in Underrail.

Description

The Core City is a major city situated literally in the core of the Underrail network. It spans both levels of Underrail and serves as a gateway between Upper and Lower Underrail and also between the lawless south Underrail and United Station territories to the north. Core City is also called Hub by some denizens of Underrail.

In the past, it used to be controlled by Biocorp's security forces, but they went rogue and split into smaller factions and fought each other for a couple of years on the streets of Core City. Today, Core City is controlled by oligarchy that arose from the split-up of Biocorp. Coretech continues Biocorp's research and development, while Praetorian Security are the remnants of old Biocorp's security forces. A third major faction in Core City is the JKK corporation.

Areas

Upper Level

The upper level of Core City is on the level of Upper Underrail. It consists of 6 maps.

The richests and cleanest level of Core City, it is the residential area. The oligarchs You can work for any of the three major factions of Core City, but only one.

- Coretech HQ in the north
- Praetorian Security HQ in the east
- JKK HQ in the west
- Tchortist church in the west

The middle level of Core City is between Upper and Lower Underrail. It consists of 15 maps.

Most of the city's activities including the popular blood sports and the merchant district are on this level.

- Faceless cave in the southwest
- Drop Zone in the east

Drop Zone

The drop zone is the slum of Core City, spanning the eastern side of middle and lower levels. It's full of zoners and other undesirables.

Points of interest:
- Passage and utility tunnels between middle and lower level
- Broken tunneler and captive Faceless in the north
- Coretech Research Facility entrance in the lower level
- Abandoned Biocorp Facility via the utility elevator

Lower Level

The lower level of Core City is on the level of Lower Underrail. It consists of 13 maps.

This level is connected to the Lower Underrail metro network and it also holds the route to north Lower Underrail.

Points of interest:
- Coretech warehouse in the west
- Black Crawlers' base in the north
- Metro fast travel in the southeast
- Drop Zone in the east

- Moe - barkeeper

Docks

The docks of Core City are in the caves below Lower Underrail. It consists of 15 maps.

On this level you will find the spacious sewers of Core City, a Protectorate warehouse and some caverns connected to the sewers. Cornell's gang can be found deep in the sewers.

- Port Zenith in the west
- Core City Sewers
- Zaman's Lair accessible from the sewers
- Core City Underground accessible from the sewers
